Call for Paper Submission
The African Journal of Family Studies (AJFS) is published annually by Institute of Family Engineering and Development, Lagos, Nigeria. The journal promotes international exchange of information on the current research theory and practice of family system and other related disciplines.
PUBLICATION PAPERS
Consequently, papers are regularly accepted for publication after appropriate reviews. Focus areas are but not limited to:
- Marriage and family counselling: counselling approaches and interventions; family therapy and conflict management.
- Family systems and parenting models: family governance, parenting structures, generational transmission of values.
- Masculinity, femininity and relational dynamics: gender roles, marriage systems, conflict resolution, intimacy frameworks.
- Technology and contemporary family life: digital parenting and social media impact and changing family interactions in the digital age; African family structures, cultural intelligence, heritage-based solutions.
- Culture, tradition and institutional systems: family policy, social systems, national development through family frameworks

Authors’ Guidelines for Submission
- Originality: Articles must be unpublished and not under review elsewhere
- Research articles: Should be original and include abstract, introduction (with literature review, framework and problem statement), purpose, research questions/hypotheses, methodology, results, discussion, conclusion, recommendations and references.
- Expository Essays/Position Papers: Should follow a logical structure: title, abstract, introduction, main body, conclusion, suggestions and references.
- Abstract: Should not be more than 250 words and should provide sufficient information to give the readers a full understanding of the content of the article.
- Keywords: Up to five keywords, separated by semi-column, should be provided to assist the readers and facilitate information retrieval.
- Style: Manuscript must follow APA 7th edition for both in-text citations and references.
- Formatting: Submission should be in Ms Word; Times New Roman, 12 points, and 1.5 line spacing.
